The last time Evan had to book a comedian for his nightclub, he went about it all wrong. First, he asked his friends and his suppliers whether they knew any good comedians. That was a big mistake right there. He thought that he could trust their recommendations. One of his contacts suggested a local comedian. Evan hired the guy without actually seeing his act, just based on that recommendation. As it turns out, the comedian wasn’t funny at all. His jokes were stupid and pointless, and when the audience became restless the comedian began to insult them. All in all, the performance was a disaster. This time, Evan is going to do the right thing and go to a booking agency to find a comedian. He’s also going to check out the comedian’s resume and watch a bit of the act before hiring the person. Evan hopes that putting a little more effort into his search for a comedian will pay off. He really needs the comedy night at his club to be successful.

Christmas Don’ts to Bear in Mind
10.06
Christmas is just around the corner – or so it seems if the mince pies in the supermarkets are anything to go by- and it is never too soon to start preparing yourself for the mayhem that this jolly season tends to invite. To help you make sure this Christmas season gives you the time and chance to fully enjoy the holidays and spend quality time with the family, here are five Christmas don’ts:
Don’t leave your shopping until Christmas Eve unless you enjoy the lack of choices and manic crowds. Try to do your shopping throughout the year. When you see something that reminds you of someone, buy it; not only will you decrease the stress associated with Christmas shopping, but you will also keep to your budget.
Don’t do everything yourself. If you have a family, get everyone to help you with making the Christmas decorations, the Christmas meal, making Christmas biscuits, etc. This is the season that has family time on the top of its priority list, so let others help.
Don’t over indulge. Christmas is a time that is accented by good food. You should enjoy it, but try to limit the amount of food and alcohol you consume – as the consequences tend to outweigh the pleasures. That said, every once in awhile, it is the norm to over indulge.
Don’t cold shoulder the snow. Not everywhere in the world has the pleasure of a white Christmas, so enjoy the snow. Make a snowman. Take the kids and/or dogs sledging.
Don’t be an idiot at the office Christmas party. This one is a big one. It’s one thing to fall out with loved ones in the privacy of your own home because you’ll always make up but one of the biggest faux pas you can make is have a barney with a colleague at the office Christmas party and then have to face them again in the new year!
